MANCHESTER CITY WIN PREMIER LEAGUE AFTER RIVALS LOSE

FIFTH TROPHY FOR CITY

Manchester City have won their fifth premier league trophy after another season of utter dominance. City started the season with a few shaky defeats and poor all round performances. However, once Pep rallied the troops together, they managed to put in winning streaks which saw them top the summit. Remember, Leicester, Manchester United Chelsea, Liverpool and even Spurs at one point or another enjoyed spells at the top of the table. However, we all know by now (especially in football) that it’s not how you start but rather how you finish that counts.

City’s champions status was confirmed thanks to local rival Man United’s defeat at the hands of top four contenders, Leicester. Leicester who themselves needed the victory to boost their top four hopes took the lead through Thomas in the first 10 minutes of play before Greenwood equalised for United in the 15th minute. Leicester put in a good performance and deserved the victory. Soyuncu netted for the away side in the 66 minute as Leicester won the game 2-1, thus confirming Man City and the premier league champions.

Today Manchester is definitely blue and will continue to be blue, as long as Guardiola remains at the helm. This achievement marks the Spanish manager’s 3rd successive premier league title as the team seek to attain treble credentials (Man United fans can be heard all over the Country chanting 1999 hahaha….salty much?!!). I think we can all agree the feat achieved by United in 1999 is a tab bit more special (hey, I’m just saying!!).

Viva Manchester City, Viva Guardiola and the rest of the incredible Citizens…..two down, one more to go.

FULHAM RELEGATED

Unfortunately, whilst City celebrate and enjoy their latest conquest, Fulham have to look forward to life back in the championship. You have to feel for Fulham because they’ve put in some really good performances over the course of the season. However, the premiership holds no prisoners and if you are not consistent you will find yourself back in the championship. With Scott Parker still in charge, I believe Fulham will be right back in the premier league but if that does happen, lets hope they would have learnt from previous endeavours.
