BLUES MAKE IT TO ANOTHER FINAL
Chelsea have ended any hopes Manchester City had of an unprecedented quadruple trophy haul this season. The Blues beat the league leaders in the FA Cup semi finals after Ziyech goal in the 55 minute was enough to see Chelsea through. Man City manager Guardiola, made a few changes to the starting line up but he just could not find the right strategy to overcome a Chelsea side who will also be hoping to stake a claim in the Champions League final.
Man City still have 3 other trophies to compete for. The premier league is all but a done deal, unless Man United can muster up a surprise which I highly doubt. City face Spurs (aka bottle jobs) in the league cup final at Wembley in the coming week ahead and will be confident of beating the lesser fancied Londoners. City then have that semi final tie against favourites PSG, and judging by PSG’s current form in the competition, it will take a mammoth effort from City to get to their first Champions League final.
Sticking with the FA Cup, Leicester have also booked their place in the final having beaten Southampton 1-0 through Iheanacho’s goal (ironically scored in the 55 minute also). Leicester will believe they have what it takes to win against Chelsea and will be just as up for the fight as the Blues. Whilst it pains me to admit this, Chelsea will have too much quality for Leicester on the day and will be victorious (lets hope I am wrong….hehehe!!).
Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel is now on the brink of something special and if he able to succeed and deliver both the FA Cup and Champions League honours, his appointment and the inevitable sacking of predecessor Frank Lampard would be fully vindicated. Unfortunately though for Chelsea fans and supporters alike, PSG still remain in latter and will remain favourites overall.
